Sorry folks, but I'm not going to be up to running Game on Monday, or doing anything else probably, so I'm cancelling it.
Thanks to Evie and people for getting things organized, sorry for wasting your work.
As stated in the next post above, Game 15-08-05 is cancelled.
Hey Gamers, Current Mood: awake
Game on Monday will be at the house of Giffy and Muggle. You've all been there before, so you know where it is. Start time for Game is 6.30pm, same as normal, please be there earlier than this for a prompt start.
We currently have one person probably unable to attend, Cassie's player. If others can't make it, please let us know.
Likewise, if you have transport issues, or wish to organise group foraging for food, please comment.
See you Monday.

Just to remind y'all, Game is on tonight at my place. Start time is 6.30pm, as normal. Show up any time from 5.30pm, Jarratt will be home.
This is your last chance to resolve transport issues - please comment if you're going to have trouble making it.

Public Information Font of Knowledge
This is a thread designed for people to post commonly known information about themselves. I think just the stuff that could be looked up on the internet or through papers and other media.

Ok - Game is the best Mage game I have ever participated in.
The LARP aspect is proving to be more exciting, with unexpected twists unfolding every time!
I was totally caught off-guard with the Paradox scene and trying to escape it; as a player I didn't realise I was stuck in one so that added real confusion to Damien when I played him. It was nasty.
Well played Ant and Jackie - you guys complemented Matt's portrayal of Ari so well.
I have made some significant follow up posts for Damien's story and will stop now, because they set the scene and I'm not clear on the direction being taken just yet. Can't wait to see what gets dished up ...
Anyway, to summarise - check these out (I have listed these in proper sequence):Damien Conners is Dead
- leaving the fire immediately after Damien burns his house down.Goodbye
- Damien finalises his existing LJ.Press Release
- where Damien's house is reported as being burnt down.Ashes
- where the fire and crime scene investigators find Damien's bunker.
Game was fun
I find it scary how easily I can evangelise for the Euthanatos. I liked Ari though, and I only really think he was a bastard in Damiens head. Well, except for the serial killer bit, except that he's not a classical serial killer in that he doesn't follow a formula, but still.
Struggled a bit with the Cassie stuff. I still find her easier to write that play F2F. I am not sure I'll ever actually be totally comfortable with playing her in f2f settings. We'll see I guess.
It's going well though, and stuff seems to be happening which is good
Not much else to say really.Current Obsession:

In the last couple of days I've been going back over character journals and so forth, trying to get a better feel for the game. It occurs to me that there's a couple of characters who might look into Smash's false background. Here's the details (as I invented them, I've tried to make them plausable for something Smash would get as a good false ID from a reliable criminal source), I've listed them in order, what I consider the easiest to discover details first and the hardest last.
Smash doesn't live at the address on Emily Castle's drivers licience; a large boarding house in Brooklyn. An E. Castel appears on the electoral roll there, but Eric is a 35 year old electrician.
An actual Emily Castle does or did exist, and was or is roughly Smash's age (early 20s). She was orphaned around age 11 and spent her teenage years in and out of foster homes.
Emily Castle worked as a prostitute in a massage palour prior to the legalisation of prostitution (no convictions), and had a driver's licence at this time (the address is a flat in Newtown).
Emily Castle used Heroin.
Emily Castle died of a drug overdose (Fri 9th May 2003), and her body was dumped at sea by her madam (Sat 10th May 2003) to avoid questions. The identity thief who got Smash the "Emily Castle" driver's licence is a friend of the madam, knew that Emily ODed, and that her body was disposed of "quietly, no fuss".
The madam bothered to look up a sea burial service on the internet between Emily Castle's death and disposal.

Mage Paradigms and Marketing Game
So today on the train and the walk to work, I came up with one idea that led into another, but more related to Game than anything else, so I thought I'd post them here instead of on my LJ( Read more...Collapse ) Current Mood: creative

Game - 18 - 7 - 05
Next Game will be at Dagger's place in Khandallah. It's on the same road as the Khandallah shops - I'll leave it up to him if he wants to post his actual address friends locked, or just in a comment. Start time is 6.30pm, there are takeaways less the five minutes walk away.
Those with transport issues, please post.

Great little burst of fiction we've had this week.
Thanks for that fiction from Gabe's perspective Anthony, it helped me understand what was going on a bit better, as I really expected you to let Gabriel wipe the floor with Smith & Jones this time.
It makes it even better actually, Gabe trying to hold Gabriel in check and succeeding.
And I like Jarrat's response as Michael too, when I asked him what he would do, it's perfect for Michael to give Gabe what he needs to know but let the stuggle and fight decide the outcome.
Kayla's use of magic is getting very interesting, and the short post was very poerical, and yet at the same time a potential lead-in to something quite effective.
Jarratt, as always, your Mallory posts are very atmospheric
Brad, you made Ari into a real bastard!
I don't mind, and Damien probably needs that sort of goading to get him to act. Jackie, do you and Brad want to talk about what's going to happen with Joy while you're away and Gabe is having an identity crisis?
Simeon, you are still there! I had an idea that there is a scene that could occur between Smash and Cassie's attacker Kelvin (assuming Smash decides to track him down because of the newspaper report). This is likely to involve Ari (who you don't know yet Simeon, but is a Euthanatos hit man who claims to be working for Mossad as well), and maybe even Cassie, if Cassie notices, seeing as she has explicitly avoided killing him in the past.
Scott, if you see this, are you likely to be able to carry out some sort of meeting between Cassie and Caleb? (Email or whatever) Please let me know what happens if you do.
Caleb/Cassie, you can decide between you whether Mallory gets to tag along as either of you can avoid him if you really want (sorry, Jarratt!)
Anyone else want to comment on whats going on or suggest scenes they want to resolve?

What the hell, why don't I just post some of this here:

Yay Eloieli! I loved that web that Cassie drew. Can you make an OOC one for the game so far? It was super-cool!
Evie said she would make me an icon, but I fear she is too busy with work etc.
I had fun at game and I am loving all the "Player Fic" we're writing, although for them it is real-life and not fiction at all!

Just finished Sophie's World
buy Jostein Gaarder.
It is very magey in feel, especially for the first 2 3rds of the book. The ending is a little disappointing but iver all it's a very good book.
I can totally see it being a story of a mage awakening a student through discuission of philosophy. It's well worth a read.
I'm also reading Critical Mass
which is describing a physics of society. There is scope for a whole paradigm in this, fairly technocratic, though it could work for a Virtual Adept.
Both are well worth reading. I'll lend Critical Mass
once I am finished it but Sophie's World
is not mine, so I can't really lend that. Current Mood: busy

Okay, unless I'm utterly mistaken, Game on Monday will be at Giffy and Margie's place. Start time is 6.30pm. I'd be grateful if one of the residents could confirm what time it's okay to show up from. ^___^
Anyone with transport issues, please post, and we'll sort something out. Same goes for any unable to make it this time.

Damien's Time Sequencing
I've updated damienconners
in doing this, I have applied Monday 20 Jun to two entries, to reflect the later evening that the Cassie / Joy / Damien meeting at Damien's place occured.
The most recent entry has been dated today, Friday 24 Jun am hours, as I was unsure of the actual time elapsed between the brain scan revelation, etc and Damien being confronted at work one morning by Mr Jones and Mr Smith. So I assumed it was the Friday as that is when Damien would have normally been scheduled to see Dr Simmons after missing several of his previous appointments deliberately.
Does this time sequence work OK mundens
in the overall context of the Game? (And do we assume that time has now frozen at the point where Damien and Joy escape with the Kraken taxi pulling up, and Gabe flying away?)
Is everyone else OK with this, as I'm aware that other character interactions need to either coincide or occur within the same timeline and I just wanted to make sure we've got the same idea from Monday's meatspace fun. Current Mood: creative
